Laila Lalami

Laila Lalami è una scrittrice marocchina, nata a Rabat nel 1968. Ha studiato all’università Mohammed V di Rabat, all’University college di Londra e alla University of Southern California. I suoi testi sono stati pubblicati su The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times, The Nation, The New York Times, The Washington Post. È stata tra i candidati al Caine prize for African writing nel 2006. È assistant professor di scrittura creativa alla University of California Riverside. Vive a Los Angeles. Il suo romanzo d’esordio La speranza e altri sogni pericolosi è stato pubblicato in Italia da Fusi orari (2007).

Laila Lalami is an author from Morocco, born in Rabat in 1968. Her work has appeared in the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, The Nation, the New York Times, the Washington Post. She was short-listed for the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2006 and for the National Book Critics’ Circle Nona Balakian Award in 2009. She is the author of the short story collection Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits and the novel Secret Son. She is based in Los Angeles.
