MADRID, June 23 (Reuters) - A fire that broke out in a Madrid skyscraper on Tuesday afternoon has been brought under control and no one was injured, police told Reuters.

The building housing the energy company Moeve, in the capital’s financial district, was earlier evacuated after heavy smoke was detected, according to witnesses, one of whom said they had to walk down 34 floors.

One witness told Reuters she saw smoke and smelled fumes before the building’s alarm went off. Images captured by witnesses showed smoke coming out of the floors in the middle section of the 49-storey building.

MADRID, 23 giugno (Reuters) - Un incendio divampato martedì pomeriggio in un grattacielo di Madrid è stato domato e non si registrano feriti, ha riferito la polizia a Reuters.

L’edificio, sede della società energetica Moeve, situato nel quartiere finanziario della capitale, era stato precedentemente evacuato dopo che era stato rilevato del fumo denso, secondo quanto riferito da alcuni testimoni, uno dei quali ha dichiarato di aver dovuto scendere a piedi 34 piani.

Una testimone ha riferito a Reuters di aver visto del fumo e sentito odore di fumi prima che scattasse l’allarme dell’edificio. Le immagini riprese dai testimoni mostravano fumo che usciva dai piani nella parte centrale dell’edificio di 49 piani.
