CAIRO, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir will visit Tehran on Monday, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Sunday, according to a statement by the ministry.

Baghaei said the visit was in continuation of Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region.

Pakistan has taken on the mediator role in negotiations between Iran and the U.S. aimed at ending their war.

IL CAIRO, 23 agosto (Reuters) - Il capo dell’esercito pakistano Asim Munir si recherà lunedì a Teheran, ha dichiarato domenica il portavoce del ministero degli Esteri iraniano Esmaeil Baghaei, secondo un comunicato del ministero.

Baghaei ha affermato che la visita si inserisce nel quadro degli sforzi del Pakistan volti a rafforzare la pace e la sicurezza nella regione.

Il Pakistan ha assunto il ruolo di mediatore nei negoziati tra Iran e Stati Uniti volti a porre fine al conflitto tra i due paesi.
