Il 3 marzo del 2000, hanno spostato tutti noi reclusi del braccio della morte in questa nuova prigione, Polunsky Unit. Qui, ci è permessa una sola ora di ricreazione al giorno, da soli, senza alcun contatto umano con gli altri reclusi del braccio della morte. Le restanti 23 ore le passiamo chiusi nelle nostre celle. Questa è una di quelle nuove prigioni di massima sicurezza con deprivazione sensoriale – la nuova "prigione dentro la prigione".

Quindi, come potrete immaginare, passiamo la maggior parte del nostro tempo nelle nostre celle, in solitudine. Io cerco qualche amico di penna nel vostro paese, che abbia voglia di corrispondere con me, con cui condividere le mie giornate, e stabilire un’amicizia, per avere una lettera da aspettare alla fine della giornata. So che avrete molte domande riguardo al braccio della morte, e alla mia vita nel braccio della morte. E forse, anche alla mia vita prima del braccio della morte.

Io sono messicano, ho 47 anni (26/6/55). Ho 4 figli, e 7 nipoti. Mi piace leggere libri di storia, classici, autobiografie, e drammi. Mi piace incontrare gente nuova, ascoltare la musica, scrivere lettere. Mi piace stare all’aperto, campeggiare, nuotare, fare escursioni in montagna, fare picnic, barbecue, ecc. Mi piace avere il mio giardino e coltivare l’orto.

Hobby: fare lavori in legno, come portagioie, orologi da tavolo, porta ritratti e altre cose.
