Krystian Zimerman discography

This is a list of all commercially released recordings by the outstanding Polish pianist Krystian Zimerman. They are meant to be a record checklist for piano lovers, to help them looking for the recorded work of a great artist whose discographic output is now, in many cases, quite hard to find.

Catalogue numbers with no other indication are cds. Those in bold indicate records that are, to my knowledge, available. Cassettes and compilations that also feature recordings by other artists and duplicate items already available elsewhere (such as “Mad for Chopin”, or “Philips Great Pianists Sampler”) are usually not listed.

Please contact me at classica@internazionale.it if you have any comment, correction or addition to this page.

A note about the Mysterious Japanese Labels
• In this discography you’ll find recordings released by very unusual labels: Fachmann, Lucky Ball, GNP, Coup d’Etat, Pandora’s Box. All these discs originate from Japan (despite what’s written on some of them), and consist of cd-roms with no booklet and no other production value whatsoever. They are basically identical to the cds anybody could make at home, with a little help from her/his cd burner, from old off-the-air recordings.
These labels don’t have a regular distribution, but are only available through semiprivate Japanese mailing lists and some shops in Tokyo. As these recordings have a commercial circulation, they have been included in this discography. But they are of course unauthorised and illegal, so please don’t contact me to obtain them, as I couldn’t and wouldn’t know how to help you. Any other question or message is very welcome. Thank you.
