LONDON, Feb 5 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer apologised to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein on Thursday and said he was sorry for having believed the “lies” of Peter Mandelson who he appointed as U.S. ambassador.

Starmer said he had not known about the strength of the relationship between Mandelson and Epstein when he appointed him to the role.
