DUBAI, May 10 (Reuters) - Iran has sent its response to a U.S. proposal aimed at ending the more than two-month war to mediator, Pakistan, Iran’s IRNA news agency said on Sunday.

According to Iran’s proposal, the current phase of negotiations will focus exclusively on the cessation of hostilities in the region, a source familiar with the matter told IRNA.

Sources in both camps have told Reuters the latest peace efforts are aimed at a temporary memorandum of understanding to halt the war and allow traffic through the Strait of Hormuz while they discuss a fuller deal, which would have to address intractable disputes such as Iran’s nuclear programme.

DUBAI, 10 maggio (Reuters) - L’Iran ha inviato la sua risposta a una proposta degli Stati Uniti per porre fine a una guerra di oltre due mesi al mediatore, il Pakistan, ha detto domenica l’agenzia di stampa iraniana IRNA.

Secondo la proposta iraniana, l’attuale fase dei negoziati si concentrerà esclusivamente sulla cessazione delle ostilità nella regione, ha dichiarato all’IRNA una fonte che ha familiarità con la questione.

Fonti di entrambe le fazioni hanno detto alla Reuters che gli ultimi sforzi di pace mirano a un memorandum d’intesa temporaneo per fermare la guerra e consentire il traffico attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz, mentre si discute di un accordo più completo, che dovrebbe affrontare controversie intrattabili come il programma nucleare dell’Iran.
