Bulk carrier reports being attacked by multiple small craft off Iran, UKMTO says

May 3 (Reuters) - A bulk carrier reported being attacked by multiple small craft while transiting north about 11 nautical miles west of Iran’s Sirik on Sunday, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency said, adding that all crew were safe and no environmental impact was reported.

Later on Sunday, Iran’s semi-official ‌Fars news agency said the ship was not seized and that it was stopped by the Iranian navy to check documents as part of supervisory procedures.

3 maggio (Reuters) - Una nave portarinfuse ha riferito di essere stata attaccata da diverse piccole imbarcazioni mentre transitava verso nord a circa 11 miglia nautiche a ovest di Sirik, in Iran, domenica, ha detto l’agenzia britannica Maritime Trade Operations, aggiungendo che tutto l’equipaggio era al sicuro e non è stato segnalato alcun impatto ambientale.

Più tardi, domenica, l’agenzia di stampa semi-ufficiale iraniana Fars ha dichiarato che la nave non è stata sequestrata e che è stata fermata dalla marina iraniana per controllare i documenti nell’ambito delle procedure di controllo.
