GENEVA, May 28 (Reuters) - The World Health Organization chief said on Thursday he was on his way to the Democratic Republic of Congo where an Ebola outbreak is outpacing the world’s ability to respond.

“16 times, this country has defeated Ebola. The 17th will be no different. But we must act now, together,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on X.

GENEVA, 28 maggio (Reuters) - Il capo dell’Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità ha detto giovedì di essere in viaggio verso la Repubblica Democratica del Congo, dove l’epidemia di Ebola sta superando la capacità di risposta del mondo.

“Per 16 volte questo Paese ha sconfitto l’Ebola. La diciassettesima non sarà diversa. Ma dobbiamo agire ora, insieme”, ha dichiarato il Direttore generale dell’OMS Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus su X.
