Exclusive-US forces shoot down Iranian attack drones, source says

WASHINGTON, June 12 (Reuters) - U.S. forces shot down multiple Iranian one-way attack drones heading toward the Strait of Hormuz, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Friday, in the latest military flare-up even as Washington and Tehran cite progress in peace talks.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the drones had posed a threat to commercial traffic.

President Donald Trump had warned Iran earlier on Friday against firing more drones at ships attempting to transit the Strait, saying Tehran “better get their act together, and FAST!”

WASHINGTON, 12 giugno (Reuters) - Le forze statunitensi hanno abbattuto diversi droni d’attacco iraniani a uso singolo diretti verso lo Stretto di Hormuz, ha riferito venerdì a Reuters una fonte informata sulla questione, nell’ultimo episodio di tensione militare proprio mentre Washington e Teheran parlano di progressi nei colloqui di pace.

La fonte, che ha parlato a condizione di rimanere anonima, ha affermato che i droni rappresentavano una minaccia per il traffico commerciale.

Venerdì il presidente Donald Trump aveva ammonito l’Iran a non lanciare altri droni contro le navi che tentano di transitare nello Stretto, dicendo che Teheran “farebbe meglio a darsi una regolata, e in FRETTA!”
