Kremlin rejects Le Pen/Bardella rebuke, says Russia is no threat to France

MOSCOW, Sept 21 (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Monday that Russia does not pose a threat to France or any European country, rejecting comments by the leadership of France’s hardline National Rally as false.

In a joint statement at the weekend, presidential candidate Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, the party’s president, said they would “never tolerate a foreign power, in this case, Russia, seeking to dictate, directly or indirectly, the policy of our country through intimidation, threats, destabilization or psychological pressure.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow did not accept the criticism.

“We do not agree with this statement. Russia is not threatening France or any other country in Europe. President Putin has stated this on numerous occasions. We have no disputes with any European states that could give rise to any serious disagreements,” said Peskov.

“Russia therefore poses no threat whatsoever; it threatens no one and blackmails no one. We therefore categorically disagree with such statements. We do not accept them,” he added.

MOSCA, 21 settembre (Reuters) - Il Cremlino ha affermato lunedì che la Russia non rappresenta una minaccia per la Francia né per alcun altro paese europeo, respingendo come false le dichiarazioni dei vertici del partito francese di linea dura “Rassemblement National”.

In una dichiarazione congiunta rilasciata nel fine settimana, la candidata alla presidenza Marine Le Pen e Jordan Bardella, presidente del partito, hanno affermato che «non tollereranno mai che una potenza straniera, in questo caso la Russia, cerchi di dettare, direttamente o indirettamente, la politica del nostro paese attraverso intimidazioni, minacce, destabilizzazione o pressioni psicologiche».

Il portavoce del Cremlino Dmitry Peskov ha affermato che Mosca non accetta tali critiche.

«Non siamo d’accordo con questa dichiarazione. La Russia non sta minacciando la Francia né alcun altro paese europeo. Il presidente Putin lo ha affermato in numerose occasioni. Non abbiamo controversie con alcuno Stato europeo che possano dare adito a gravi disaccordi», ha detto Peskov.

«La Russia, quindi, non rappresenta alcuna minaccia; non minaccia nessuno e non ricatta nessuno. Siamo quindi categoricamente in disaccordo con tali dichiarazioni. Non le accettiamo», ha aggiunto.
