WASHINGTON, Feb 8 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent praised Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi as a great ally after her ruling coalition’s landslide election victory on Sunday, noting her endorsement by President Donald Trump.

“She is a great ally, great relationship with the president,” Bessent said in an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” program. “And when Japan is strong, the U.S. is strong in Asia.”

WASHINGTON, 8 febbraio (Reuters) - Il segretario al Tesoro statunitense Scott Bessent ha elogiato il primo ministro giapponese Sanae Takaichi come un grande alleato dopo la schiacciante vittoria elettorale della sua coalizione di governo domenica, sottolineando il suo appoggio da parte del presidente Donald Trump.

“È un grande alleato, ha un ottimo rapporto con il presidente”, ha detto Bessent in un’intervista al programma “Sunday Morning Futures” di Fox News. “E quando il Giappone è forte, gli Stati Uniti sono forti in Asia”.
