Saudi says it intercepted three drones that entered from Iraqi airspace

CAIRO, May 17 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia on Sunday said it intercepted three drones after they entered its territory from Iraqi airspace.

The kingdom’s defense ministry said it would take the necessary operational measures to respond to any attempt to violate its sovereignty and security.

While hostilities during the Iran conflict have largely been scaled down since a ceasefire came into effect in April, drones have been launched from Iraq towards Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

CAIRO, 17 maggio (Reuters) - L’Arabia Saudita domenica ha detto di aver intercettato tre droni dopo che erano entrati nel suo territorio dallo spazio aereo iracheno.

Il ministero della Difesa del regno ha detto che avrebbe preso le misure operative necessarie per rispondere a qualsiasi tentativo di violare la sua sovranità e sicurezza.

Mentre le ostilità durante il conflitto con l’Iran sono state in gran parte ridimensionate dall’entrata in vigore di un cessate il fuoco ad aprile, dall’Iraq sono stati lanciati droni verso i Paesi del Golfo, tra cui l’Arabia Saudita e il Kuwait.
