BRUSSELS, March 16 (Reuters) - All EU informal councils will be held as planned in Cyprus between April and June, Cyprus Energy Minister Michael Damianos said on Monday.

Cyprus, which currently holds the rotating EU presidency, moved all March meetings online or postponed them after a drone strike on a British air base amid the Iran crisis earlier this month. Cypriot officials said the attack was carried out by an Iranian‑made Shahed drone, likely launched by Iran‑backed Hezbollah from Lebanon.

“Things are all back to normal. All business, including your business resumes and all informal councils to be held in Cyprus between April and June will be held in the normal way”, Damianos said ahead of a European foreign affairs meeting in Brussels.

BRUXELLES, 16 marzo (Reuters) - Tutti i consigli informali dell’Unione europea si terranno come previsto a Cipro tra aprile e giugno, ha detto lunedì il ministro dell’Energia cipriota Michael Damianos.

Cipro, che attualmente detiene la presidenza di turno dell’UE, ha spostato tutte le riunioni di marzo online o le ha rinviate dopo l’attacco di un drone a una base aerea britannica durante la crisi iraniana all’inizio del mese. I funzionari ciprioti hanno dichiarato che l’attacco è stato effettuato da un drone Shahed di fabbricazione iraniana, probabilmente lanciato dal Libano dagli Hezbollah sostenuti dall’Iran.

“Le cose sono tornate alla normalità. Tutti gli affari, compresi i vostri, riprendono e tutti i consigli informali che si terranno a Cipro tra aprile e giugno si svolgeranno in modo normale”, ha detto Damianos prima di una riunione europea sugli affari esteri a Bruxelles.
