WARSAW, March 28 (Reuters) - Poland will extend controls along its borders with fellow European Union members Germany and Lithuania by six months until October 1, its interior ministry said on Saturday.

Poland introduced temporary controls in July, echoing several other EU governments in reimposing frontier checks to stem illegal migration.

“This decision is due to the need to counteract illegal migration and ensure internal security,” the ministry said in a post on X.

WARSAW, 28 marzo (Reuters) - La Polonia estenderà i controlli lungo i suoi confini con i paesi membri dell’Unione europea, Germania e Lituania, di sei mesi, fino al 1° ottobre, come ha dichiarato sabato il ministero degli Interni.

La Polonia ha introdotto controlli temporanei a luglio, facendo eco a diversi altri governi dell’Unione europea che hanno reimposto controlli alle frontiere per arginare l’immigrazione clandestina.

“Questa decisione è dovuta alla necessità di contrastare l’immigrazione clandestina e garantire la sicurezza interna”, ha dichiarato il ministero in un post su X.
