KARACHI, March 18 (Reuters) - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan has put the death toll at 143 in the bombing of a Kabul drug rehab centre by Pakistan, an official told Reuters on Wednesday.

The Afghan Taliban government had said more than 400 people were killed and 265 injured in the air strike on Monday night.

Pakistan has rejected the Afghan Taliban claim that it targeted a drug rehab centre saying it “precisely targeted military installations and terrorist support infrastructure”.

KARACHI, 18 marzo (Reuters) - La Missione di assistenza delle Nazioni Unite in Afghanistan ha fissato a 143 il bilancio delle vittime del bombardamento di un centro di disintossicazione di Kabul da parte del Pakistan, ha dichiarato mercoledì un funzionario alla Reuters.

Il governo talebano afghano aveva detto che più di 400 persone erano state uccise e 265 ferite nell’attacco aereo di lunedì sera.

Il Pakistan ha respinto l’affermazione dei talebani afghani di aver preso di mira un centro di disintossicazione dalla droga dicendo di aver “preso di mira con precisione installazioni militari e infrastrutture di supporto al terrorismo”.
